The Shanker Law Firm, PLC represents people who have been exposed to a variety of chemicals that can be hazardous in class action and mass tort litigation. The Firm represented approximately 300 individual plaintiffs and two putative classes made up of people who live near a smelter facility in Hayden, Arizona. The case against the Asarco mining company sought, in part, medical monitoring, personal injury damages, and property damage and devaluation, based largely on emissions of lead and arsenic. The case was recently resolved through Asarco’s bankruptcy proceedings. Members of the Firm were also involved in medical monitoring class action litigation against mining interests in Idaho and against TRW, an air bag manufacturer, in Mesa, Arizona.

The Shanker Law Firm, PLC helped represent approximately 100 inmates and 30 officers in a case against the Arizona State Department of Corrections. The State used inmate labor to tear asbestos out of a facility with no training or protective gear. The Firm was able to obtain a settlement that helped make the plaintiffs whole.
